On February the 26th we catered for a children’s birthday party-
13 little girls arrived for a Sweet Art cupcake decorating party at the Baptist Church hall in Westbourne.
We provided decorations for the hall and the client was able to personalise their event by choosing the colour scheme, type of birthday cake and choice of party finger food.
The Frog Hollow Sweet Art team started the day by decorating the hall with purple and green bunting, table cloths and wonderful heart shaped helium balloons.
The tables were then set up with all the equipment, yummy cupcakes in 2 flavours, rainbow sprinkles and a choice of icings – fondant and butter cream.
As the children arrived for the party – they were asked to wash their hands and put on an apron. We had made colourful place names so each child knew where to sit.
When everyone was seated – the class began, Charlotte provided a demo of how to decorate 3 cupcakes in 3 different ways and then the children were left to decorate up to 12 cupcakes in whatever designs they wanted. Charlotte and Kerry were on hand to assist in squeezing piping bags or cutting marshmallows to make flowers.
Great fun was had by all – including the grown ups who couldn’t resit getting involved with the decorating.
Once all the cupcakes were finished the tables were cleared to make way for boxing up the wonderful creations and decorating the boxes with curly ribbons and name tags.
Then it was time for tea, we provided a selection of finger food to include:
Sausage rolls, Cheese straws, Cocktail sausages, Chicken skewers with bbq sauce and tomato dip, Mini cheese and ham pizza, Mild cheddar and grape sticks, Crisps, Cheese and tomato finger sandwiches, Strawberry jelly and vanilla ice cream and a fresh fruit platter.
We also made a lovely Sylvanian families cake for the birthday girl Maddy – who was delighted and has decided to keep the decorations rather than eating them.
The end of the party arrived all too soon and the final surprise was a lucky dip full of little gifts for all the children to take home with their Sweet Art creations.
We had a fabulous time providing the entertainment for this party and we know that Maddy (the birthday girl) had enjoyed herself as she told us it had been her very best birthday party ever.
